Lauren Michelle Hayes

was born in the small town of Porterville, California, and from the very beginning, she had a profound love for music and performing.  At the age of eighteen months, she quickly gained notoriety in the local grocery stores when she would frequently break into song while shopping with her mother.  “You Are My Sunshine,” and “Winnie the Pooh” were the two most requested numbers by her audience.

Throughout her elementary and high school careers, Ms. Hayes remained a dedicated and loyal member of her school choral programs, where she had many solo opportunities and won several competitions.  After high school, Ms. Hayes went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she specialized in Early Music, Contemporary Music, and Art Song.  During her studies at Oberlin, she was praised for her innate sense of musicality and phrasing, along with her appetite for learning new music.  Ms. Hayes was highly sought after as a chamber soloist, and she had the opportunity to collaborate with many talented musicians including James David Christie (organ), William “Webb” Wiggins (harpsichord), and Phililp Highfill (piano).  She was later accepted into the Masters of Music program at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Ms. Scharmal Schrock.  While her training was largely centered around classical singing at both institutions, through self-exploration, personal growth, and diverse musical interests, Ms. Hayes has developed a vast repertoire that bridges the gaps between many musical styles.

Ms. Hayes is currently residing in Los Angeles, California where she teaches private voice lessons at the Pangrazio Music Conservatory, and regularly performs as the featured soloist for the Westwood Hills Christian Church.  She is also closely collaborating with Los Angeles composer/pianist, Nathanael Pangrazio, on several original works for voice and piano in addition to being featured on the recording of his new Requiem.
